Ring in the New Year with Maggie Ryan

Happy New Year, friends,

I am taking the week off to take care of some family things, but I didn’t want to miss out on showing off this awesome book from Maggie Ryan first. Here she is.

Excerpt:

Her Papa spun her until she was in front of him, held in his arms as he began skating backwards. “Kitten, no matter how you might plead, we both know that you would feel lost without paying for your naughtiness. The cane is an implement that I know has you seriously considering your behavior. And, young lady, if you don’t wish to wear wheals across your beautiful arse, then all you have to do is be a very good little girl.”

Not able to deny his words, she flushed and, tossing her head back, stuck out her tongue. Hearing his chuckle, she closed her mouth, smacking her lips. “What? Don’t you love catching snowflakes on your tongue?” A soft yelp was her next sound as his hand connected with her back of her skirts.

“And this is the same girl who wondered if I’d prefer her never to be naughty?” He twirled her in a circle before drawing her close again, bending to speak quietly. “Tonight, my love, you can demonstrate a much better use for that little tongue and your beautiful, warm mouth.”

She wondered if the cream she could feel gathering in her core would freeze in the cold temperatures and then decided that no, her body was far too hot to allow that to occur. After she had given him another kiss and a whispered, “Yes, sir, Papa,” they skated some more until she traded places to allow him to escort Franny around.

“Are you having fun?” Ettie asked, skating and stopping beside her.

“Yes. I will always love this place. This is where I felt we became true sisters.”

Ettie nodded. “Um, are you sure you are okay? I mean, you screamed pretty loudly when you fell earlier.”

“I’m fine. I was… um, my bottom is just a little sore.”

“Oh, you don’t have to say anything else,” Ettie said, her cheeks flushing a bit redder than the cold air warranted. After a moment, she smiled. “You and Lucas are so great together. Even when you’ve been…” She paused, shaking her head. “You two always seem so happy. Do you think I will ever find a man who makes me that happy?”

“I hope so, Ettie. If you find a man half as good as your brother, I can promise that your life will be wonderful even if he gives you a tender arse when you’re naughty.”

“Lucy!” Ettie said and then giggled. “I love you so much because you are always honest about who you are. Thank you.”

The conversation didn’t go further as Lucas skated up to them and held out his hand. “Please, may I have this skate?”

Ettie giggled and managed to give a curtsy despite the slick ice. “It would be my pleasure, sir.”

Lucy watched as brother and sister took a turn around the pond. She’d never been good at lying or pretending to be someone she wasn’t. Besides, every member of her Papa’s family was well aware that she often had a tender bottom. And, if Ettie truly was thinking of becoming a woman who gave more of herself than most wives, it didn’t seem right to keep at least the basic facts of what that life would require from her.

In the fourth book of the bestselling Hunter’s Ridge series, we return to visit the people who have come together for the holidays. Lucy and Louisa continue to blossom under the stern but loving guidance of Lucas and Edward, every day being another step along the paths they have chosen.

But they are not the only ones making choices. Will Franny be able to set her fears of courtship aside and give Samuel Benedict a chance to win her heart? Or will that one impulsive, naughty decision she made ruin her chance of finding true love?

Meanwhile, not one but three men are vying to capture the heart of the vivacious youngest Lady Huntington. Ettie discovers that courtship is thrilling, yet she also learns that there is more than simply love to consider. She knows she needs to feel adored, but can any one of the three make her feel truly cherished?

What path do these two young women wish to take and who will take the journey at their sides?

As shopping is done and gifts made by loving hands, the house is full of secrets. Will Lucy decide to share what she has learned? And what exactly is the secret that Louisa is holding close?

Days are filled with skating, sleigh rides and racing across the snow covered fields. Courting abounds, and preparations are made to attend the Grand Ball. Will love and trust be enough to hold the family together when a night of enchantment turns into a nightmare, threatening to tear the family apart?

Maggie Ryan

Author for Blushing Books.  I write both contemporary erotica and historical spanking romances.  I enjoy writing about characters that enjoy the provocative D/S lifestyle of today’s times as well as taking a step back into the past to write stories that take place in the Victorian era with age-play as a theme.

I live in the great Lone Star state with my wonderful husband.  I have always loved reading.  Growing up in a family with four children, it was difficult finding a place to be alone.  I was probably one of the squeakiest clean girls on the planet as I would spend hours in the tub so I could read without being bothered.  It wasn’t long before I began to make up my own endings to the books I was reading.  From there, it just seemed natural to begin writing my own stories.

I never try to restrict myself to any one genre because there are just too many delicious possibilities out there and inside my head.  I admit to being somewhat of a romantic though as my stories always must have a great deal of love, passion, corporal discipline and, of course, great, mind-blowing sex.  I want my readers to be able to see, hear, feel and know the characters that I’m creating as well as I do when I bring them to life and transfer their stories to paper.  I want my women to be strong of character but also strong enough to know that submission given in love and trust to your partner does not make you weaker, it makes you far stronger.    I want my men to be sexy, strong, demanding alpha males who know how to take what they want while acknowledging it is a gift they have been blessed with by the women that have chosen to submit to them.  I want there to be no doubt that they truly would die for the other no matter how others might view their relationship.
