Today’s a special post in honor of all the “older than average” spanked female characters. 🙂
I have read several books recently that have had female main characters who were slightly older than the average 20-30 something. I adored these women, and loved their stories. It makes sense. I’m not 20 or 30 anymore. I’m a 40 something. So it’s nice to every once in a while connect with a character who is close to my own age.
So in honor of the slightly more experienced women in spanking and erotic romance, I have placed their covers along with a quick logline for each, so you can meet these awesome women.
All are over 36, and a few are even a bit older. But that doesn’t stop them from being fantastic characters! I can vouch for them, having read 3/4 of them. And I am planning on reading the rest, soon.
Thanks to the authors for sharing their wonderful characters.
These are in no particular order 🙂
Buy on Amazon (currently sold as part of When the Gavel Falls box set)
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy spanks!

This is so cool, it’s hot! I’m with you Katherine. As an (ahem) over-40 person, I like reading about older characters. Thank you for including Reasonable Doubts.
Ooh, I like that, Cara!
The pleasure was all mine 🙂
I hope we find some more over 40’s to read about next year 🙂
What a great list! I have already read over half of these, but now I have a few new books for my TBR pile.

Yay! Thanks, Livia
🙂
Thanks for adding my story, Katherine. As my heroes always say, ‘A woman is never to old to be spanked’. 😉
so happy to have you, Mary!
And, mmmmm, I love that saying, and agree whole heartedly 🙂

Thanks Katherine for doing this and adding my story to the list of these great writers.
We can’t stay twenty something forever and as part of the older set, it’s our responsibility to let others know that life doesn’t stop just because you get a little older. As they say, it gets better even if you do have a few crinkles and more padding.
Loved these books, I too have read many of them and now have a couple more to add to my list.
hehe, I like the crinkles and padding. it’s true!
Thanks for taking part, Leigh
🙂
Thank you for this wonderful post. I love reading over 40 heroines!
Thanks for being a part of it, Renee 🙂 (Darling).
Me too!
Katherine, I so appreciate this post. I have an idea for a book about a mature sub, and have been tossing it around for a while. Now I’m inspired to write it. Thank you.
OMG, Maggie, that sounds awesome! Please do! I can’t wait to read it 🙂
Thanks, Katherine. If my next two releases do well, I’ll roll the dice. 🙂
Thanks for this post and for including my book. I also like that there are stories here about couples who have been married for decades as well as women finding love after 40.
Happy to have you, Celeste, thanks for taking part!
Good point about the different stages of “love” these women were all in. It makes for something nice and different. 🙂
❤
All I can say is thank you!
Thank you, Joanna and hugs!

I LOVE reading about older couples!!! I have read many of these!
awesome, Minelle! Thanks and hugs!

This is wonderful Katherine. As an over 40 I too enjoy stories with characters more my age. Thank you for sharing. I have read some of these and will check out the others.

Thanks, Roz. I love having all these choices to spice up our reading, and am looking forward to trying out the ones I haven’t read yet.

I read some of those! I was clicking over here thinking you were going to open my eyes to new things, seems I have been reading them all along, LOL. I guess I never really get too concerned about the age of the characters I am reading about. It does seem like heroines are in their 20’s an awful lot, there’s more room for error. Characters are allowed to be stupid and make dumb decisions when they’re in their 20’s!
LOL, Casey! Good point.
hehe, I cannot believe some of the stuff I got away with in my 20’s.
😉
now, I am ahem, snort (choking against my poker face), much older and wiser and more mature.
really!
😉
Thanks
❤
That is a good point, Casey. But I also think we have a historical predisposition toward creating young heroines in romance. I think we make them young because we’re always created them that way. The Harlequins I read as a teenager always had young heroines. Some were only 17! But now WE’VE grown up and it’s time for the heroines to grow up too.
Great post! Thanks for including my story. I love reading about older heroines.
Thanks, normandie, and thanks for taking part 🙂
Nice round-up of fillies over 40 for a stallion (in my dreams) fella looking back the calendar to see where the years went. Thanks, Ms. Deane. Seriously, it seems that when writers take on real people with real age you get … real characters one can care about. Unlike PK, I haven’t read them all so I’m pleased. Jon
Hehe, thanks so much, Jon. I love this realism in the writing, I agree.
These authors are all so talented, I don’t think you can go wrong with a little “eenie meenie”ing for book choice. 🙂 That’s what I’ve had to do lately.
Thanks!
